Here are a few last impressions from our Thanksgiving weekend in Los Angeles.

Wood carving in the Great Room of Rover and Cal’s house. It was built by a German immigrant back in the 1940s. Sunlight always floods most of the rooms, which is covered with elaborate carvings on walls, ceiling beams, colums and trims

Isn't that the LACMA exhibit where they show all the 'broken' buildings and warehouses?!? Did you guy go to the new contemporary building with the giant red elevator?? Did you see Michael Jackson and Bubbles? :-)
Yes, that was one of many exhibits that we saw. And we went to check out the new Broad Contemporary Arts Museum...giant red elevator, Michael Jackson with Bubbles, big egg shells, large corn flakes boxes and all. They're also showing pieces by German artist Joseph Beuys. I remember lots of it from the time when I was still living in Germany. It was like going through a time machine for me. Just amazing.
I hear good things about the experience at the visitor center for the La Brea Tar Pits. I've never been, but it's on my hit list.

All of your pics from this trip are great! I really like the flower in your friend's garden. We're bracing for our first big snowstorm of the winter on this coast... Sigh...
