Good Times Redux

Below are some leftover images from our last trip to Southern California in May. This coming 4th of July weekend we’ll be driving to Los Angeles again to spend a few days there.

Saturday morning we’ll meet Robert for breakfast, spend a few hours at the beach and then head on over to Hollywood to see “In the Heights” at the Pantages. And there’s a good change we may be celebrating Independence Day at Disneyland.

All in all, sounds like George and I will reprise our good times in the Golden State.

Now if the rest of this work week would just move a little faster...

Interesting flowers along the Pacific Palisades

The sandy beach with the Santa Monica Pier in the background

Birds of Paradise were blooming everywhere

An old L.A. landmark, the Farmer’s Market on Third Street and Fairfax Avenue

Santa Monica’s Ocean Front

Interesting trees in Los Feliz

Beautiful shots! You really should be a professional potographer, Jim!

Happy Canada Day (July 1) to you and George! (I've made you honourary Canadians.)

Dear Jim: My name is David Gasten and I am the producer of a music compilation series called "This is Vintage Now". This is an independently-released series of MP3 albums that feature current artists who have an authentic-feeling mid-century (c. 1950's) sound. The first compilation in the series, which was simply titled "This is Vintage Now", was released in 2011. (http://www.thisisvintagenow.com)

The reason I am contacting you is that I am interested in securing the second image here, the one of the beach with the snow fences and Santa Monica Pier in the background, as a stock image we can use for the album art of our newest release, "This is Vintage Now Vol. 2: Happiness Is a Way of Life".

"This is Vintage Now Vol. 2" is currently in production and will initially be released independently as an MP3 album only. Because are hoping to release the album on vinyl LP eventually, we are hoping to secure a very large, print quality copy of the image. Please let me know what fees you would require; we are hoping to budget approximately $100 for the use of this image.

Thank you kindly for your assistance; please email me at DAVIDGASTEN (at) YAHOO (dot) COM and I look forward to working with you on this!

All the best,

David Gasten
